Field Stone
is native to the
Cincinnati area. it is blue/gray with some buff and contains many fossils. Our
native field stone is seen in many older areas of town, such as Clifton, Hyde
Park, Price Hill, etc. Many old retaining walls are constructed of this stone.
Because of its irregular shape, field stone pieces are usually cemented
together.
