Bluestone
is a dense, hard,
fine-grained sandstone material. Thicknesses vary. This material is
usually large sized pieces up to several square ft each. Full range of colors
includes blue, gray, green, and orangish brown. Lilac is very popular, it is a
distinct color of dark burgundy. Premium Blue is available as a special order.
Bluestone is available in irregular and patterned pieces. Covers approximately
70-80 square ft per ton.

Irregular (both full color and lilac)
- is a distinct color that is a dark burgundy shade. Truly one of the
most beautiful flagstones available. Bluestone is randomly broken pieces,
usually quite large, but fairly thin. Usually 1 1/2
+ thick, 4 square ft
and larger size pieces. |

Patterned Bluestone - are pieces of
flagstone that have been cut into increments of 6 (e.g. 12 x 12, 12 x
18, 12 x 24, 18 x 18, 18 x 24, etc.). These are nominal sizes (not exact)
and thicknesses will vary slightly from 1-2. Makes a very formal, elegant
appearance. Can be laid dry or wet (mortared). |

Tumbler Stone are small pieces of
bluestone that are tumbled with sand and water in the barrel of a concrete mixer.
After tumbling, these stones have soft, rounded edges and very flat, smooth
surface areas. Thicknesses vary from Ύ- 1 1/2 and sizes range from
4-12. Covers approximately 100 square ft per ton. |

Garden Tumblers are larger pieces of
tumbled stone. They are thicker, 1/14-2 and are 12-24 pieces. Covers
75 square ft per ton. |
